Iglesia Ni Cristo's event in Quirino Grandstand, not a political-inclined agenda

An aerial view of Iglesia ni Cristo's Grand Evangelical Mission in Quirino Grandstand
28th February 2012, MANILA, PHILIPPINES – Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) held its Grand Evangelical Mission (GEM) in accordance to the religion's theme for 2012, PUSPUSANG PAGPAPALAGANAP NG EBANGHELYO, meaning a thorough dissemination of the Gospel of the Lord. Reiterating, it is an EVANGELICAL MISSION and not some kind of "rally" or "prayer rally" as the media claimed in the news earlier this day. And besides, prayer rally is El Shaddai's (and other Protestant groups) thing, and most definitely not INC's.

I am fully disturbed by the insensitive public defamation the media have spread around in their headlines regarding this religious event held. They have ill-reported false facts to the public as they claimed the event as a political rally against the impeachment of Corona.

This article below is just a proof on how unreliable the media is, as they always eye on INC as an influential group, known for "block voting", for politics. Well, block voting may be true, but in fact, INC is not, in any way, politically inclined.

The Virgin Diaries

Do you still remember your first kiss? Or if you haven't had one, have you ever imagined how it will be like? Well, if you ask me, I'd rather not spill things since I am not some kiss-and-tell shit who would be floundering around and telling everything that happened that one night.

Enough about me. Hee hee. There's this new series titled "The Virgin Diaries," and well... it's a story inspired by those virgins who have not had their first kiss yet, and have been saving themselves and their first kiss for their marriage. However, there's a twist. It may sound boring to some of you, but this show's commercial is the best thing you've gotta see. And when I say you've gotta see it, you really need to see it. Watch and be amazed! And you decide whether you'll watch the series or just be addicted to it. And one tip for some people who have never been kissed, try not to do some chewing, or lessen it the least you can. Lalalala~

Life-Changing Friday

This is an interview of Rebecca Black as she analyzed her "debut song" Friday. Watch the video to know the true hidden meanings of the song. She looks so serious in the interview, it makes you wanna believe her. Doh. Still needs to do more to change the people's belief about her song. Personally, I still think Friday is stupid even after her explanation. C'mon, it feels like she's only making things up. Ha ha ha.

I'm surprised, too. Friday is not just like any breezy pop song? Well, I think I'd choose Bieber over you. I'm shocked to death knowing that the song came from a really deep and painful place. Is this sarcasm?

Anyway, consumerism, according to RB, is indicated in the line "Gotta have my bowl, gotta have cereal." It is not I gotta have my bowl, it is I GOTTA HAVE my bowl. And same goes for her cereals. She's teaching us how to use word stresses. Without these two, we're left off as hungry bitches.

Also, American foreign policy is in the line "Kickin' in the front seat, sittin' in the back seat" meaning she needs to make a choice between the two seats, representing Afghanistan and Iraq. Now, how did that happen? For a couple of short lines, you got Afghanistan and Iraq in your song already? The lines didn't even have any useful adjectives to resemble the two countries.

Lastly, economic stability in the line "Everybody's looking forward to the weekend," weekend, according to her, is a metaphor for financial stability. I don't see anything about the broken promises in the current generation and society in that line. As for the metaphor, does she mean that the weekend is so much related to partying that you need to have money for these parties? Well, not everyone sees it that way.

Oh, yeah! One more thing. It's not "Partyin' Partyin' Yeah!" It's "Partyin'... Partyin'... Ye...ah?" See the difference? So yeah, does she have to spell it out for us? Learn to read between the lines. Friday's such a nice song, it can even change our lives, as well as our point of views in life. Not. So much for mocking. Gotta have my bowl of cereals now. Teeheehee. Ciao~

Dead Neighbor

Tanya Markova, a cross-dressing, make-up wearing, all-male Filipino band whose name is an anagram of the Ilocano words “natay” meaning dead and “karovam” or “karubam” meaning neighbor. Combined, Tanya Markova stands for dead neighbor (Marasigan J., 2010). This is their first album cover, with 20 tracks in it. You'll probably find a lot of filler tracks here, the best one so far is the one titled Psst where you'll only hear "psst". Their songs are not really of lyric-value and everything they sing is just so random. A lot of people does not like their music 'coz it's random and, uh yuh, no sentimental meaning. Well, that's what I think I like about them, pure randomness. Their first single's Picture Picture, followed by Disney, and Disney's my all-time favorite, not to mention it's creative music video.

Ang pangarap ko nung bata
Sana'y matupad.
Sa lugar na mahiwaga
'Dun ay mapadpad.

Revisiting Vizconde Massacre

June 30, 1991, a dreadful massacre occurred inside the Vizconde's residence along Vinzons Street, BF Homes Subdivision, ParaƱaque City where Estrellita Vizconde, 47 (who suffered 13 stab wounds); Carmela Vizconde, 18 (17 stab wounds with evidence of rape); and Jennifer Vizconde, 7 (19 stab wounds) were found dead.

A former laundrywoman for the Webb family took the stand as a witness for the prosecution. Mila Gaviola’s testimony claimed that she washed a bloody shirt belonging to Hubert Webb, the morning after the massacre.

For almost nine years, in the year 2000, Judge Amelita Tolentino handed down a decision which declared Hubert Webb and his co-accused Michael Gatchalian, Hospicio Fernandez, Peter Estrada, Antonio Lejano and Miguel Rodriguez guilty and sentenced them with life imprisonment. They were also ordered to pay the Vizconde family Php 3 million in damages.

After 10 more years, April, this year, Supreme court ordered the reopening of the Vizconde case and granted the request of Webb for the forensic examination of the evidence, such as DNA testing of the semen specimen taken from the body of the rape-slay victim, Carmela Vizconde. The NBI and ParaƱaque RTC reported that the specimen was not in their custody.

Just this month, December, the Supreme Court thus declared Webb, along with the other six murderers, acquitted in the Vizconde massacre. The PAO, with the others who handled the case years ago, demanded for a Motion for Reconsideration on the massacre case. Filing an MR will only be an advantage for reviewing the files and the evidences, but to my point of view, to declare the seven murderers guilty for the second time after being acquitted by the high court will be likely impossible since it is what is stated under the double jeopardy law. Nonetheless, the Vizconde family is still hopeful that justice shall prevail. As I may see it, it may only be justice against those who were not alleged as murderers and masterminds of the said case.
